Cheesy Baked Macaroni

The Cheesy Baked Mac recipe that I have tried several times to make.

Ingredients:
Baked Macaroni
400g elbow macaroni
150g ground beef
150g hotdog
200g button mushrooms, sliced
1 large onion
1 large bell pepper
600g three cheese spaghetti sauce
200mL all purpose cream
200g grated cheddar cheese
Béchamel Sauce
2T butter
2T flour
2 cups full cream milk
freshly ground pepper

Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instruction.
In a separate pan, saute onions until fragrant then brown the ground beef. Add the the hotdogs and mushrooms. Pour in the spaghetti sauce when the hotdogs are cooked. Bring to a boil. Let it simmer for five minutes. Add in the cream then season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer again for 15 minutes while stirring continuously. Fold in the cooked macaroni and leave it under low fire.

Prepare the béchamel sauce. Make the roux by melting the butter then mixing in the flour. Cook for a few minutes so there will be no raw flour taste. Pour in the warm milk and mix until thick and no more lumps.

Fill the pans with the macaroni then pour in the béchamel sauce and top with grated cheese.

Bake it in the oven, 350deg C for 20 minutes or until cheese melts.

Serve with garlic toast and enjoy.
