Comfort Food (3)

After a long day at work. During a rainy day. PMS. Crying after a fight. On a sleepless night.

These are just some of the times that I want a piping hot bowl of congee, rice porridge, goto, arroz caldo, or more popularly known as LUGAW. Most of the time, it is partnered with lumpiang toge or tokwa’t baboy. Seasoned with ground pepper, patis, suka, or garlic bits.

So many Lugaw Places, so little time to taste them all. I’m on the hunt for the best lugaw in town. This will be the start of my Lugaw Chronicles. Join me as I try every lugawan I see and let’s see where this will take us.

NOTE: the lugaw above was bought from a lugawan near The Sanctuarium (Araneta Ave. cor. Quezon Ave.)
